TELL ME ABOUT YOUR UPBRINGING. WHERE DID YOU GROW UP, AND WHAT WAS YOUR CHILDHOOD LIKE?
I was born and raised in Ukraine, a country that the whole world is now closely watching, as my compatriots fight for freedom and independence. My family and my mother’s friends had a deep appreciation for art, beauty, and design. Interesting books and music were always around me. In my youth, I had the opportunity to visit many European countries, which fueled my passion for music, fashion, and design. At the age of 16, I immigrated to America, where a new world opened up for me.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOURSELF?
I have an eclectic taste in creative art and music, as it always fills my heart with compassion. I am a DJ, audio engineer, and producer with a deep interest in a broad spectrum of sounds and the language of music. I believe that creating good music is just as challenging as crafting beautiful jewelry that stays with a person forever.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR EVERYDAY LIFE. WHAT DO YOU DO ON A DAILY BASIS, AND HOW DID IT FIND YOU?
Every day, as I venture into the world, my eyes catch all the colors and shapes, and my ears hear sounds and silence. This is what inspires me to create.
WHAT STYLE OF MUSIC DO YOU CREATE, AND HOW HAS IT EVOLVED OVER TIME?
I call it the art of sounds, defining it as Intelligent Dance Music and Music Therapy. I strive not to be influenced by major outlets and temporary trends. My experience and approach help me evolve my tastes.
WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR CREATIVE INSPIRATION FROM?
I am surrounded by creative people and have a large following on social media. We share altruistic motives to change the world for the better.
WHO WAS YOUR BIGGEST INFLUENCE IN LIFE?
My family and close friends.
WHAT OTHER PASSIONS DO YOU HAVE?
Photography, climbing, bicycling, collecting, and studying sounds.
WHERE DO YOU GO TO GET RECHARGED? OR WHAT RECHARGES YOU?
Rock climbing, as it always gets me high.
TELL ME ABOUT AN INTERESTING EXPERIENCE OR ENCOUNTER YOU’VE HAD.
I collaborated on a project with Ms. Halas, an Art Teacher/Educator for 8th grade in a Chicago middle school. Students were assigned to draw exclusively to music arranged by me, and afterwards, the winner's painting was displayed for the world to enjoy.
WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING OR WHAT ARE SOME GOOD BOOKS YOU’VE READ IN THE PAST?
"The Creative Act" by Rick Rubin, from which I enjoyed learning about the art of being an artist and what it takes to be truly creative.
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN THE NEXT YEAR? AND IN FIVE YEARS?
Starting a new chapter in my life, transitioning to a new career using my degrees. My experience provides a good foundation and communication skills to move on and up.
WHAT PLACE WOULD YOU LOVE TO VISIT THAT YOU HAVEN’T YET?
Liam Howlett’s (from The Prodigy) recording studio.
